My raw foods diet

I am so very excited.  I have been on a raw foods diet now for going on two weeks now.  I have to tell you that I can honestly say that I can’t recall ever feeling this good in my adult life.  I remember feeling something like this when I was a kid.  But that was probably because my mom was in control of my diet.  I was raised a vegetarian, so this really should come naturally to me.  But it doesn’t any more.  I contaminated my body with all the processed and unnatural foods that have become common place in our country.  I joined the millions of Americans who are eating poorly.

It’s funny how it’s not until you are faced with decisions of your own personal health, that you look back and appreciate what your parents did.  Or at least that’s how I’m feeling now.  I find it most interesting that I was basically raised on a raw foods diet until I reached high school.  My mom gave me the power of choice over my nutrition at that time.  I am still kicking myself for the first whoper that I ate. 

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that eating meat is wrong.  Some people are fine with it and it works for them, while for other people it’s not a good idea.  I am one of those people who should really only eat meat almost never.  So it was a bad idea for me to introduce meat into my system, a very bad idea.  So it seems that after all these years, I’ve decided that the best diet for me would be the raw foods one. Now bear in mind that just because it’s a raw foods diet doesn’t mean that everything you eat is raw.  I have the luxury of eating some cooked foods.  Of course it’s only a slight amount of cooked food, basically about 20 to 15% cooked if that much.  No I’m not a vegan, where they eat only raw foods, 100% raw foods.  I’m not there yet, and maybe I’ll get there, I’m not sure.  I must admit that while I enjoy my raw foods diet now I do enjoy eating a few cooked items every now and then. 

Do I miss some of those processed foods every now and then?  Yes I do, but the beauty of the raw foods diet is that there are so many natural foods out there that I can eat.  And those foods are better than the processed ones.  I’m a work in progress though, and I’m feeling great about it.  I’m sure I’ll have more to share soon enough.  In the meantime, good eating to all.  Go here for additional  raw foods diet information.

Healthy Raw Food Diets

My friends and their raw food diets

I have friends who have been on many different diets lately.  I have several of them who just recently decided to change to raw food diets to see if they could drop some of the excess weight that they seem to have put on over the years.  It’s been a pretty interesting journey for all of us, to say the least.  Some of them are doing ok and others not so much. 

One friend decided that they were just going to go from eating junk food and drinking sodas one day to eating vegetables and drinking 100% pure fruit juices.  Needless to say that was so much of a shock not only for his body but for his mind, he was ready to quit in a week.  And that is the thing that you have to be mindful of.  You have to prepare not just your body, but your mind for such a healthy change to raw food diets.

Then my other friend decided to do a half and half kind of thing.  Let me explain the half and half theory that he decided to do.  First he went from eating hamburgers and French fries for lunch each day to eating sub sandwiches and drinking water.  Then he went from eating subs and drinking water to eating salads and drinking water.  Now his breakfast still consist of scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits and sausage, and his dinner is half salad, half steak.  Of course his steak is only the very best.  It’s not the regular cut that you can find in the stores, its kosher meat and so only the best for him.  I’m not sure how this diet is working for him, but he says he can feel the difference.

And then there are my other two friends.  They seem to have it together the most.  They have read books and did their research.  They have decided that if they are going to do this, they are going to do it right.  So they have gradually eased their minds and their systems into the raw food diets which have seemed to work nicely for them.  They feel better, and they look better.  One can actually see their weight loss.  And they say that they have more energy than they every thought they would have. 

I’m not an expert, but out of the three of these options, I think that the latter is making the most headway.  And unlike the other diets that are around, I think that they will be able to stick with their raw food diets as they planned.  I’m cheering them on as they eat better and feel better.  See more raw food diets and healthy recipes information here.

Enjoying your raw food diet results

You looked at your body since last month and you can’t believe your eyes.  The weight has just been falling off at rates even your clothes can’t keep up with.  And you think to yourself, these raw food diet results are remarkable.  You probably shared this well kept secret with all your friends when you first started out.  And I’m sure like most of us, making lifestyle changes are difficult and even somewhat drastic for you.  Dealing with eating almost 80% raw food products when you ate a meal and making sure that the foods you purchased weren’t just fresh, but that they were organic. 

Knowing that your produce wasn’t going to further poison your already over taxed and highly poisoned system, brought you some comfort.  You found the recipes that would help you to transition from being one of those people who enjoyed a half of pizza, a hot dog on white bread with French fries, or an ice cream sundae with all the fixings and a maraschino cherry on top, oh and don’t forget the whip cream.  Or better yet, my favorite, the nachos with the hot, spicy extra runny cheese at the movie theater when you watched a movie.  You went from all of that to eating, a serious garden salad, filled with tomatoes, onions, peppers of every possible color, cucumbers, cabbage, black olives, spinach and romaine lettuce, drizzled with extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and fresh time and basil.  You managed to do that for the sole purpose of making sure that your raw food diet results would last. See some additional raw food diet results here.

You didn’t want this time to be like all the other times that you "dieted" and lost the weight.  You wanted to do something that was going to be a part of your life.  That after it required some kind of sacrifice you would have some kind of tangle reward.  You were looking for a way to ensure that even though you got tired or accomplished your initial goals, you were going to be able to keep doing it.  And with the raw food diet results that you have today, you have most definitely found it. 

Your feel better, you have tons of energy now.  Even your friends see it.  Your skin is glowing like you just came from an evening outside in the sun.  Your hair looks like you just stepped out of the salon and you have this overall good health.  Things don’t hurt like the used to anymore.  The raw food diet results  are probably the best thing that happened to you.  So enjoy the new you, several sizes smaller and keep enjoying those wonderful and tasty raw foods.  Stick to this diet and this diet will certainly stick with you while you will be seeing fantastic results far better then your initial goals.

Eating a Raw food diet for weight loss

What’s the best avenue for losing weight? I would have to say by far the best options for me would be the raw food diet for weight loss.  Oh sure, you’re not impressed.  You probably aren’t interested in changing the way you eat.  You probably enjoy eating all those foods that add pounds to your frame from just looking at them much less eating them, right?  That’s what you would rather do.  You would rather eat and keep gaining weight.  You would prefer to enjoy the continuous visits to the doctors and with the pharmacist.  Well if you don’t enjoy regular visits to the doctors or the need to take numerous kinds of pharmaceuticals to aid in giving you reasonable health, then perhaps this would be for you.

You see eating a raw food diet for weight loss is probably the best possible idea for your health.  Not just because you are going to lose the weight, but because you are allowing your body to obtain healthy foods.  One of the most important items about eating a raw food diet is that your body is able to digest these foods better.  You see the reality of eating is that our systems were not designed to eat all the processed foods that we currently consume as a nation.  As our population has grown the demand for food to be completed quicker has increased.  Think about it; back in the 1950′s it wasn’t a big deal to come home from work and wait to sit down with your family and eat a home cooked meal.  If both of the spouses worked, it was perfectly fine to enjoy a crock potted meal at the end of the day.  Now the closest thing most people get to home cooked is KFC.  And guess what, in order to turn out that food quickly and in such large portions, there are tons of preservatives and processed items in them.  And eating that is what aids in us putting on weight
